About Us

"Supporting young people to live successful and fulfilling lives"

London’s Assisted Semi-independent Housing Alliance (L.A.S.H.A) is a Therapeutic and Holistic needs-led, semi-independent provider for young people 16+. Our main goal and objectives are to support our young people in reaching their full potential in order for them to live successful and fulfilling lives and by doing so we work with local authority children’s services to provide suitable accommodation for ‘Looked after Children’ under the Leaving Care Act 2000.

The support which LASHA provides stems from a holistic and systemic approach, in which we support our young people with all areas of their development including Mental, Physical, Sexual, Social, Emotional, Economic and Spiritual Development

We provide a holistic needs assessment of the young people within our provision in conjunction with supporting the young person’s pathway plan. Our service is underpinned by our core values of acceptance, respect, equality and diversity as well as practicing empathy and adopting the Secure Base model of therapeutic caregiving which over time helps young people to develop trust and build resilience.

We see ourselves as a family at L.A.S.H.A which is one of the main reasons why we have adopted the secure base model.

The Secure Base Model provides a framework for caregivers and for those who support them to think in more detail about the different but connected caregiving approaches that can help a child/young person move towards greater security. It is a positive, strengths-based approach that focuses on the interaction between the caregiver and the young person, but also considers how that relationship can enable the young person to develop competence in the outside world and manage often complex relationships with others.

This is why at LASHA we only select the most experienced and skilled staffing team who are able to implement these principles. Our staff are fully committed to their relationships with the young people as well as eager and determined to see our young people build healthy relationships and achieve positive outcomes.

Keyworkers who provide secure base care and relationships are a key therapeutic resource for young people.

The Secure Base model can provide a framework for promoting caregivers’ strengths and improving outcomes for young people through to adulthood.
